Governor Agrees With New, Stricter EPA Emission Guidelines

Governor Gary Herbert supports tougher vehicle emission standards, to improve our Utah air quality.

In a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency, Herbert says the cost of the program appears relatively modest, given the air improvements it should deliver.

The program would reduce the amount of pollution vehicles can emit, starting in 2017.

It would also require sulfur content in gasoline to be lowered by that time, as well.
