UDOT is not particularly popular these days, for hundreds of Davis County residents who oppose the West Davis Corridor highway.
Transportation officials say, after three years of study, they have identified the best route for the 20-mile roadway, planned to run between Farmington and Hooper.
But residents packed a Tuesday night meeting, to voice their opposition.
Some no longer believe the highway is needed, thanks to recent mass transit improvements.
But UDOT says Davis County's population will grow in the years ahead, and they need to contruct the highway before it fills in more than it already is.
