'Count My Vote' Movement Lawyering Up

A GROUP THAT'S WORKED TO OVERHAUL THE SYSTEM UTAH USES TO NOMINATE POLITICAL CANDIDATES, IS GATHERING A TEAM OF LAWYERS IN CASE THE CHANGES ARE CHALLENGED IN COURT.

"COUNT MY VOTE" VOLUNTEERS WANT TO BE PREPARED, IF THERE'S A LEGAL BATTLE OVER THE COMPROMISE LEGISLATION THEY STRUCK WITH UTAH LAWMAKERS.

THE CHANGES ALLOW CANDIDATES TO BYPASS THE CAUCUS AND CONVENTION SYSTEM -- FOR NOMINATING CANDIDATES -- BY, INSTEAD, COLLECTING ENOUGH SIGNATURES TO COMPETE IN A PRIMARY ELECTION.
