Federal Inmates Testify in Provo Murder Trial

WEEK FOUR -- OF THE HIGH-PROFILE, DR. MARTIN MACNEILL MURDER TRIAL -- GOT UNDERWAY IN PROVO TUESDAY, WITH PROSECUTORS MOVING TOWARD WRAPPING UP THEIR CASE.

TWO INMATES WHO ONCE SPENT TIME WITH THE ACCUSED KILLER -- AT A FEDERAL PRISON -- TESTIFIED, MACNEILL DID NOT CONFESS TO THEM, HE KILLED HIS WIFE IN 2007.

BUT THEY SAY HE ALSO SAID, PROSECUTORS "HAVE NO EVIDENCE AGAINST (HIM)."

DEFENSE ATTORNEYS ARE TRYING TO PAINT THE INMATES AS KNOWN LIARS.

DR. MACNEILL IS ACCUSED OF KILLING HIS WIFE -- WITH A DRUG OVERDOSE -- IN ORDER TO CONCEAL AN AFFAIR WITH HIS MISTRESS.
