Salt Lake Warehouse Burglary Suspect Hides in the Rafters

A WAREHOUSE BURGLARY SUSPECT WAS BOOKED INTO THE SALT LAKE COUNTY JAIL TUESDAY MORNING, AFTER ATTEMPTING TO HIDE FROM POLICE, BY HIDING IN THE RAFTERS OF THE BUILDING HE REPORTEDLY BROKE INTO.

JACE PAINTER, 34, IS ACCUSED OF ENTERING THE INDUSTRIAL SITE -- NEAR 12TH WEST, ON 2ND SOUTH -- EARLY TUESDAY MORNING.

DETECTIVE GREG WILKING SAYS, WHEN POLICE FINALLY SPOTTED HIM -- TRYING HIDE, OVERHEAD -- HE PRETENDED NOT TO HEAR THEM... FORCING POLICE TO GO UP AFTER HIM.

AUTHORITIES SAY THE SUSPECT HAD NOT REMOVED ANYTHING FROM THE WAREHOUSE, BEFORE BEING INTERRUPTED BY EMPLOYEES.  BUT THEY DID FIND BAGS OF ITEMS ON THE FLOOR.

PAINTER NOW AWAITS A COURT APPEARANCE, ON FELONY BURGLARY CHARGES.
