Suspected Utah Bad Guy Busted at Boise Motel

SALT LAKE VALLEY POLICE AGENCIES ARE BREATHING A COLLECTIVE SIGH OF RELIEF, FOLLOWING AN ARREST -- LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT -- AT A BOISE, IDAHO MOTEL.

THAT'S WHERE AUTHORITIES LOCATED TRAVIS MCDONALD, 31, THE SUSPECT WHO, LOCAL POLICE SAY, LED THEM ON A PAIR OF HIGH SPEED CHASES -- ON THE SAME DAY, LAST WEEK -- IN TWO DIFFERENT STOLEN PICKUPS.

CHARLIE ROBERTS -- WITH THE UTAH MOTOR VEHICLE ENFORCEMENT DIVISION -- SAYS, WE'RE ALL MORE SAFE WITH MCDONALD BEHIND BARS, BECAUSE HE HAS DEMONSTRATED WANTON DISREGARD FOR PUBLIC SAFETY.

BOISE POLICE WERE CALLED TO THE MOTEL, ON A REPORT MCDONALD WAS ATTEMPTING TO USE A STOLEN CREDIT CARD.

A SEARCH OF HIS STOLEN VEHICLE TURNED UP STOLEN MERCHANDISE AND A GUN.

POLICE SAY MCDONALD WAS WITH A UTAH WOMAN -- BUT IT'S NOT YET CLEAR WHETHER SHE WILL ALSO BE CHARGED.

THE BOUNTIFUL MAN HAS BEEN BOOKED INTO JAIL, ON DRUG, WEAPONS AND THEFT CHARGES.
