Wyoming Man Killed While Changing Flat Tire in Provo Canyon

UHP TROOPERS SAY, A 74-YEAR-OLD WYOMING MAN -- WHO STOPPED TO CHANGE A FLAT TIRE -- WAS STRUCK AND KILLED LATE TUESDAY NIGHT, BY A PASSING VEHICLE IN PROVO CANYON, NEAR VIVIAN PARK.

TROOPERS SAY JOE BROADBENT, OF EVANSTON, HAD BEEN DRIVING A TRUCK -- AND TOWING A FIFTH-WHEEL TRAILER -- WHEN HE PULLED OVER.

WITNESSES SAY HE HAD WALKED TO THE LEFT SHOULDER...AND WAS CROSSING BACK OVER TO HIS TRUCK, ON THE RIGHT SIDE...WHEN HE WAS HIT BY A CAR.

POLICE AREN'T SURE WHY THE VICTIM CROSSED THE ROAD.
